Happy Birthday to Never Listless!

I am so excited that my little blog turns one year old today!  I remember when the idea to start a book blog came to me and I thought that it was just another flight of fancy (that happens to INFPs), but I’m still here!  I’ve started several blogs over the years in different niches, but I think I’ve finally found the one for me.  But that’s not to say that it hasn’t been challenging for me to keep on top of.  While it’s always a joy to actually sit down and write, I can let it slip into the background without even realizing.  And then before I know, I’ve gone three months without writing a word!

One of my biggest motivators has been Maria Popova over at Brain Pickings.  She is such a reader and has the ability to connect different ideas in such thoughtful and broad ways which I find unparalleled.  And I just read a passage from Tools of Titans that described her work process that was incredible.  I have read most of it before, but I just can’t get enough of it. Tools of Titans is full of interviews of people who have achieved impressive feats and share their secrets to success – this is my sort of guilty pleasure!  I can’t wait to dig into a it more.  But confession:  I flipped to the Maria Popova chapter first. (!!)

I also want to take this time to thank the people that follow my blog.  Knowing that I’m not yapping into the oblivion has helped me stay excited about returning to this space.  Wordpress has been a great platform to find other readers and make connections.  So thank you ALL for being so kind and real and reminding me to go easy on myself!
