Hello! Each Monday morning I share a look into my notebook from the week before. I believe that it helps me look at how I’m using my time and how that aligns with my goals and values. And it’s pretty 🙂

GREEN | Writing
My journaling streak continues – today is Day 246. I woke up early enough to spend some time with my blog every day as well. On Saturday, despite being up early enough to return to my blog after I used the exercise bike, I went upstairs and brought Colton (Bug) down to watch an early morning movie while I read a book. He was up bright and early and upset about something, but it wasn’t too early so it was fine for him to spend some quiet time with me and the lights on the Christmas tree, which he loves. So no blog work that morning, but it was still lovely!
PURPLE | Blackberry Bluff School
A triumphant return to Blackberry Bluff School after vacation the week before! We managed to do everything I planned even with Colton quarantined at home, which I was nervous about. Today starts Week 14!
BLUE | Outside Time
It was a fairly frigid week, but the kids squeezed in some outside time. They also went outside for about an hour yesterday with Matthew, but it’s not in my book because I was busy with inside chores. We got some snow this week, so it gave me an opportunity to inventory their snow things and see what we need for this season. Yikes!
PINK & ORANGE | Reading (pink = physical and Kindle books; orange = audiobooks)
Look! I spent time reading books with my eyes rather than just my ears! It feels good to be on a reading streak again. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to sink on the couch with a good book and let everything else disappear. I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
YELLOW | Stitching
Big chunks of my evening time are still devoted to stitching. This week I’ve been working on my cross-stitch project and putting the binding on my Scrappy Crossroads quilt. When I’m stitching I think, “this! This is what I want to do all of the time!” and then I think the same thing when I’m reading. The balance is probably a very good thing.
OTHER GOALS
Exercise | I used the exercise bike 3 times last week! I was shooting for 4, but skipped on Sunday because I wanted to sit down with my blog instead. This week I’ll try for 4 times again. No yoga last week because Colton was home — perhaps this week?
Water | I met my 64 ounce goal twice last week. I’m actually quite happy with that. But here’s to doing even better than expected this week!
OTHER TRACKING
Weather | I still enjoy tracking the weather each day. I draw a little icon of the overall weather and then record the low/high temps of the day, which I pull from our weather station’s website. I also write it in my 5 year journal each day. It feels like a good substitute for the phenology wheels that I wish I could do.
Covid | Still tracking daily covid numbers in the state. Depressing!
I’m pleased that I had a well-balanced week and that my reading mojo has returned, however briefly. I’m looking forward to seeing what this week brings! If you’ve recently written a post about your own notebooks, please leave a link in the comments. I love the inspiration and encouragement!
I don’t do the notebook thing but I agree that being organized is the best way to accomplish the necessary stuff so there is time for fun! Have a great week!

I smiled at your surprise Saturday morning companion. What a lovely treat for both of you. And good for you for on that water goal! (the struggle is real to drink enough, so I am impressed!)

I’m missing that sinking-into-a-book feeling too. So glad it’s come back for you! Was it a particular book that did it for you?

I think it was the Little House books, as silly as that might sound! They were exactly what I needed to bring some joy into my life – they’ve inspired me to do more decluttering and tidying around the house and have reminded me that life is HARD for everyone… it’s all about what we make of it.

I love that you spend time stitching. I’ve been doing that in the evenings, too. This morn I got caught up and before I’d realized it I’d seen all day… But, I finished the queen size quilt top piecing… Now to set up frame to quilt it. 🤓

I just visited your blog and saw your lovely new quilt top – well done!! It’s beautiful 🙂 I’ve started feeling like the day isn’t complete without just a touch of stitching.

I’m always stitching, crochet/knit, ratting, embroidery, or counted crosstitch. My brain injury keeps me from being able to work outside the home so I’ve got to fill hours or go nutz
