Every Monday morning I spend a few minutes looking at my planner pages from the week before. I’m finding that it’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on all the ways I’m using my time and how that aligns with my goals and values. Last week was Thanksgiving here in the US and a break week for our homeschool, so things were quite different for us!

GREEN | Writing
My journaling streak has continued – today was day 239. The kids are finally adjusting to the time change from earlier in the month, so I’ve been able to reclaim most of my early morning time as long as I wake up early enough. Luckily the latest I tend to sleep is 5, so I still have a nice stretch of time even if I “sleep in.”
PURPLE | Blackberry Bluff School
This was a break week, but we still did some basics (reading, writing, and math) on Monday and Tuesday to make up for some unexpected things that popped up over the last term. And on Sunday I spent an hour planning for the start of our third term (today!)
BLUE | Outside Time
A bit better this week. And still – we could definitely be spending more time outside!
YELLOW | Stitching
For the second week in a row, stitching has dominated my personal time. It helps that my husband was on vacation, which incentivized me to sit on the couch and watch the shows we haven’t had time for before now. The only thing I worked on was my cross-stitch project – clearly I was looking for a break from quilting. Today my plan is to get back into my old routine: stitch on my quilt for an hour and then switch to cross-stitching. My hope is that they will both get some attention this week.
PINK & ORANGE | Reading (pink = physical and Kindle books; orange = audiobooks)
Oh boy. Reading rut, anyone? Notice that I’m still leaning on audiobooks heavily and that I didn’t listen to anything until the weekend. I’m hoping I settle in with a nice reading routine in December.
OTHER GOALS
Water – I’m still using my big water bottle and it’s helping. Last week wasn’t as good as the week before, but I’ll keep tracking and doing my best to meet this goal.
Exercise – I used the exercise bike twice last week, which I’m happy with. I had planned to use it 4 times, but the holiday and an extra blog post to be published this week got in the way. No yoga, but I wasn’t really expecting that because of all of the disruptions to our routine.
OTHER TRACKING
WEATHER – I continue to track the weather in this notebook because it’s fun and I enjoy seeing how the weather affects our day. I also transfer this data into my 5 Year Notebook each week, so that I can easily see how the weather changes from year to year.
COVID NUMBERS – I’m still tracking the number of Covid cases in my state each day. It’s in the top gray bar beside the day of the week. We were expecting the numbers over the weekend to be a bit higher because of the delay in reporting due to Thanksgiving and yet – they still startled me. I’m very anxious to see what the numbers are like in 2 weeks, which is when we’ll see if there’s a spike related to Thanksgiving gatherings and travel.
And that, my friends, was my week! If you’ve recently written a post about your own notebooks, please leave a link in the comments! I’d love the inspiration and encouragement. I plan to be back tomorrow with my One Little Word post – the 11th of the year!
Hello. I have to look my month in my notebook. It’s a good idea.
Wish you a beautiful day 😗

I’m glad the water drinking is going well — I really think that’s going to make a big difference for you in the long term. I can’t believe you’re already headed into your third term of school!

Go you on the water drinking! Whenever I get up to go do something, I refill my glass. It has helped tremendously. 🙂
Our COVID numbers have just exploded… it is a bit scary.

What a great strategy for drinking water! Thank you!! Our COVID numbers are also exploding, but it’s hard to tell how much of it is from a backlog from the holidays. Even if HALF of it is from the holidays, it’s still way too high! Stay safe!

I need to get back into the habit. Last year I recorded weather at dawn (when I get up), and the year before it was little blessings of everyday. Got my new planner pages… Just need to find a new topic…

Those are both wonderful habits! Good luck finding what works for you.
