Happy Friday, lovelies! I’m here today to share a few things that I’ve been obsessing over and that have brought a little bit of cozy into my life this week.

I have become obsessed with Phenology Wheels and charts. Phenology is the study of the natural world. Phenology wheels and charts are beautiful (seriously – go look at this link!) depictions of the world around us. Because 2020 has only just begun, I realized that I could start one of these NOW and capture so much about the changing seasons (and so can you! It’s not too late!).
Cue the screeching breaks! I quickly remembered that I’m a horrible artist. I can barely draw identifiable stick figures and I certainly can’t watercolor. BUT I can make a chart like a pro. So instead of going full out artist on this, I decided to just have a little fun in my hobonichi weeks and draw out a chart that I can fill in each morning.
I’ve prefilled the moon phase and sunrise/sunset times. Each morning I look at the previous day’s actual high/low temperature and fill those in, along with the day’s weather and a few words about it. Once the bare bones were established, it takes less than a minute each morning and can easily be incorporated into my morning routine. How fun!
(And now I know that today is the Full Moon and it’s called the Wolf Moon. I’ll be listening for coyotes tonight.)

I’ve started the year with Adriene again. It seems like I start one of her 30 day series every new year and then again in the summer, but never finish any of them! But I finished Day 4 last night and hope to continue for the full 30 days. I keep journaling about all of the positives – how I never feel like doing it but it feels so good to have done it, that my joints feel like they’re surrounded by clouds after a good yoga session, that my body feels quicker and springier already – all of it is true but I’ve never been able to be consistent with a practice. Let’s hope that 2020 is the year that changes!
Adriene’s yoga videos on YouTube are free and full of accommodations for our bodies’ current abilities. I love her work!
That’s it from me this week! I’m looking forward to a bit of a January thaw this weekend. I believe that yesterday’s frigid weather has been forecasted to stay through today, but tomorrow will be warmer! Have a great weekend!
Such a cool idea to track the weather like that! One day I’ll get around to knitting a chart, I’ve seen both temperature highs as a row and baseball games done.

That sounds awesome! I haven’t seen that done, but combining two things that I love – knitting and charts – can only be great!

What a fun idea! I like seeing the sunrise and sunset times get earlier and later, respectively, each day. It’s a good reminder that winter can’t last forever!

I love it too! I used to do it in other planners, but fell out of the habit. But it’s even better to see them right beside each other and watch the days getting longer! Thanks for visiting 🙂

Oh.my.gosh! What a rabbit hole you have sent me down! I like this idea – and like you – my drawing skills are sorely lacking! But I will start to incorporate these things into my daily journaling. I especially like the temperature charting!
