I’m getting my spin selections in just under the wire! Over the weekend I announced that I was joining The Classics Club, just in time to participate in one of their spins. What is a spin? Well, you can read all about it here, but to brief: participants choose twenty books from their master list that are yet to be read, number them 1-20, and then The Classics Club chooses a random number. Whichever book on your list is paired with that number is the one that you read! Easy peasy, huh?
So here’s my list:
Author Name | Title | pub’d | Reread?
1 | Austen, Jane | Northanger Abbey | 1817
2 | Bronte, Anne | Agnes Gray | 1847
3 | Bronte, Anne | The Tenant of Wildfell Hall | 1848
4 | Cather, Willa | O Pioneers! | 1913
5 | Chopin, Kate | The Story of an Hour | 1894
6 | Hurston, Zora Neale | Their Eyes Were Watching God | 1942
7 | Jackson, Shirley | Come Along With Me | 1968
8 | Lee, Harper | To Kill a Mockingbird | 1960 | Y |
9 | L’Engle, Madeleine | A Wrinkle in Time | 1962 | Y |
10 | Morrison, Toni | Beloved | 1987
11 | O’Connor, Flannery | The Violent Bear It Away | 1960
12 | Read, Miss | Thrush Green (TG #1) | 1959
13 | Read, Miss | Village School (FA #1) | 1955
14 | Rhys, Jean | Wide Sargasso Sea | 1966
15 | Robinson, Marilynne | Housekeeping | 1980
16 | Shelley, Mary | Frankenstein | 1818
17 | Smith, Betty | A Tree Grows in Brooklyn | 1943
18 | Undset, Sigrid | The Wreath | 1920
19 | Woolf, Virginia | Jacob’s Room | 1922
20 | Woolf, Virginia | A Room of One’s Own | 1929 |
To be honest, I’m really hoping that number 9 is called because I need to read A Wrinkle in Time for my book club at work! But I’d also be thrilled if A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, A Room of One’s Own, or The Wreath were to be called too!
Won’t you join along??!
Oooh, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is so good! Can’t wait to see what number they pick!

Their Eyes Were Watching God is an amazing book. I read it with the CC a number of years ago during a readalong. It was tremendous, so I wish you #6 🙂
