July 2017 Morning Pages

I don’t want to shock you, but today is the last day of July. Summer is almost over and I couldn’t be happier. Last night I had snickerdoodle ice cream and it was full of cinnamon – delicious! Which only made me think of apple pie, and then my heart ached for Fall. Tell me that’s not dramatic.

But I had a great July! I read a ton of books (a wrap up post should be coming along soon), did a ton of writing, and I finally got this website in a good place. My favorite personal accomplishment of the month is exactly what you’re seeing in this post. I wrote my morning pages every single day in July, even on the weekends.

That means that I have 74 pages of journal-y goodness to give you heart-shaped eyes today!

I have a couple of different posts on morning pages and the benefits I’ve been seeing from them. And I recently read The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron, which is where the idea of morning pages came from. I’ve always been a person who kept a notebook, but was never as consistent as I would’ve liked with journaling. I could never understand how anyone was actually able to write in a journal every single day. Now I’m one of those people!

In July, I finished my beautiful purple Leuchtturm1917. Because I’d only just bought my Hobonichi Techo Cousin, I couldn’t justify buying the Leuchtturm again. So I went with the Moleskine Classic Notebook, which is much more affordable. And I have to tell you: I couldn’t be happier! The lines are a bit wider apart, so I’m finding that my handwriting isn’t as cramped as in the Leuchtturm; in turn, my writing is much prettier!

Here’s to a beautiful August and a busy writing hand!
