Speaking From Among the Bones by Alan Bradley

Just a quick check in to share that I’ve finished the fifth Flavia de Luce, Speaking from Among the Bones, which didn’t disappoint!  Flavia’s village, Bishop’s Lacey, is celebrating their patron saint.  In the process, Flavia uncovers a body and is off on yet another mystery.

Flavia’s humor, intelligence, and mischievous nature are on full display in this installment.  I just love reading these books!  Well, I don’t actually read them because I listen to them on audio when I’m running reports at work, which don’t use up a lot of brain space.  These are great summer reads – lighthearted with a smart and feisty girl.  They aren’t earth shattering, just good plain fun.  I wish that I would have had the guts to be more like Flavia when I was a girl!

And this book ends with a cliffhanger, so you better believe that I downloaded the sixth book right away.

I hope everyone’s enjoying their summer and sneaking in bits of things that bring you joy!
