On Fridays I share a few pictures and thoughts from the week. Today will be short and sweet because it's been a busy week and I haven't taken too many snapshots. But the banner picture shows a heron that's been hanging around the last few weeks and I finally managed to whip out my camera... Continue Reading →

I like to share pictures from the week on Fridays. We've spent a TON of time outside this week -- it is looking and feeling beautifully fall-like around here!
A Sunday Poem – The Way of Love
I spend all week reading a poem or two a day, thinking that I won't find the perfect one to share on Sunday. And then - it arrives. Just in the knick of time. I would not have been a poetexcept that I have been in lovealive in this mortal world,or an essayist except that... Continue Reading →

Our Basement Conundrum

Friday Cozies – Week 39 of 2020
Friends, we've made it to another Friday. There seems to be no reprieve from heartache, injustice, and fear this year; yet I'm trying to do my job as a mother: to give my children a safe and cozy place to learn and grow and to live a life that makes the world a better place. There's a lot of work to do. But on Fridays I share some of the pictures I've taken throughout the last week and write a few words about what's been going on around The Cozy Burrow, so let's catch up a bit.
A Note About Comments

In the past, I've always replied to everyone directly in the comment section so that my response is visible to anyone else who reads the comment section. I like doing this because I hope it will spark... Continue Reading →
A Sunday Poem – Wendell Berry on Hope
At least, I hope that Wendell Berry is writing about hope in this poem, because otherwise it feels as though life might be pretty useless. So I'm going to cling to the few sentences of hope that I see in this poem because it's been another gut-wrenching week all around. Here by the road where... Continue Reading →
