FO Friday – Second Spark Cardigan

It’s Friday! And it’s perfect timing because I just finished weaving in the ends on my second Spark Cardigan last night.

Here’s the Ravelry link and my modifications:

+ I shortened the cuffs of the sleeves from 5 inches to 2.5.” The original pattern has you fold the cuffs over and I’m forever fiddling with them on my other cardigan. I still think the sleeves are about .5″ too long.

+ I lengthened the body by about an inch.

+ The original pattern calls for a 2 inch collar. I knitted 4 inches because I wanted a super shawl collar and that is what I got!!

+ I omitted the belt and belt loops. I never wore the belt with my first Spark (except in the first photos) and finally snipped the belt loops off a couple of months after finishing.

+ Main Color Yarn: Knit Picks Wool of the Andes in Gull
+ Contrasting Color Yarn: Knit Picks Chroma Twist Worsted Weight in Lupine

Friends — it is lovely! It is SO cuddly and cozy. The collar is exactly what I wanted: huge and luxurious; I can practically wrap it around my head. The contrast between the yarns is nice and sharp and I love all the colors in the Chroma Twist.

I’m very happy with this project and it’s ready just in time for FALL. The forecast has us falling into the 40s tonight!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, full of good books and stitching. Take good care!
