Hello, Friday! I find that focusing on the simple things in life is a good way to feel true happiness, so I spend the whole week with my “joy radar” up to make sure I have something to share here. My time is short this morning, so I’ll make this short and sweet.

+ Colton was home this week because of a positive Covid case at his treatment center. That meant I needed to scale back my plans for Blackberry Bluff School and focus on the basics. I was amazed by how well Bryce adjusted to that change and how nice it was to have everyone home, even if it was a lot more challenging.
+ I’ve done yoga every day this week so far! I’m enjoying Adriene’s March calendar and like that almost all of the practices are right around 20 minutes.
+ We lost power for most of Tuesday thanks to some intense winds. It was super cold and I was thankful for a well-insulated house and the option to hop into the van and take a drive.
+ I’m planting seeds in the basement today! This has been on the agenda for weeks and I’m thrilled that it’s finally here. Throw in a read aloud of Seed Babies and it’s easily a biology unit for school that will stretch through the summer.
+ Those daffodils on the south side of the house are still bravely making their way out (you can see them in the picture above). And we spotted two tulips emerging yesterday! We still have a ton of snow in some places, but it’s pulling back and slowly but surely – it’s melting. Flowers are on their way!
So please tell me – where did YOU find joy this week?
I’ve been seeing a ton of flowers poking up, plus buds forming on tree branches, and every morning this week I’ve been hearing enthusiastic birdsong. It’s still chilly here and we had some snow flurries blowing around yesterday, but nature knows that spring is coming!

Just done the supermarket run and come home with a new two portion size lasagne dish and a pot of hyacynths. And I have daffodils in flower in the garden.

It gives me so much joy to see those buds … and to imagine the biology lessons that Spring and growing things will inspire! I did all five pilates routines with The Balanced Life this week for the first time since before I started to play tennis. My body is thanking me and that makes me feel a bit of joy π Wishing you a joyful weekend … and some more sunshine!

My son is giving me joy this week (as always) – right now he’s singing in the shower and I love his theatrical style! We’re on Spring Break starting now – not going anywhere but just enjoying being home with one another. I’m gonna get out in the yard and clean up my garden beds this coming week. That is joyful to me!

I love reading posts about joy! Flowers popping up are definitely a good thing. This week has been challenging. I broke my hand but everyone has been treating me like a princess. I stopped to buy a cookie at the local coffee shop and the man behind the register smiled and slipped an extra one in for free. Maybe I looked like I needed it. It was so lovely.
