Hello! Each Friday I try to share as much joy from my week as possible. We all know that true happiness comes from finding joy in the small moments and writing these blog posts has been a fantastic practice for me!
+ This has been Vacation Week for us. One of the flexibilities of homeschooling is that we can plan our year based on my husband’s work schedule. He chose this vacation week last year and when I was putting our yearly schedule together over the summer I made sure this was also an “off” week for Blackberry Bluff School. I can’t tell you how nice it’s been to have Matthew here to help out in the early mornings and in the evenings – two of the hardest times to be a parent and when I’m usually flying solo! And of course, it’s nice to have him home more in general!
+ Because it’s vacation week, we haven’t had a lot of structure. That means that Monday’s check in with my notebook is going to look very strange! But it’s definitely a good thing, because I’ve been able to take this opportunity to relax and focus on the things that I enjoy doing. I read nearly all day on Tuesday, in between doing what needs to be done around here. Yesterday I spent nearly 4 hours (broken into smaller chunks) sewing in the basement. See? Whatever, whenever. I feel lucky!
+ I don’t often stay caught up with Masterpiece, but I’m still right on track with All Creatures Great and Small. This Sunday is going to be the last show in the series! I’ve enjoyed it so much and have loved how funny it is. I’m not sure what’s next, but I hope I can continue watching!
+ Yesterday was my birthday! My husband asked what I wanted and I requested a very large amount of time in the basement, alone, to sew (hence the 4 hours in the basement yesterday). Best gift ever! We had frito pie for dinner and I got my free Starbucks coffee yesterday morning after I dropped Colton off at his treatment center. It was a very good day!
+ I started the 5th round of my Stay at Home Round Robin quilt on Wednesday. It will be a miracle if I get it finished before Monday, which is when the linkup closes and the next round is announced, but it’s a really fun one and I can’t wait to share it with you all!
+ I am on Day 27 of Adriene’s 30 Day journey! I’ve signed up for her 30 day journeys several times over the last few years and have never made it past day 8 or 9. I’m not sure what was different about this year – perhaps the permission to take my time? But maybe I’ll be able to say that I completed the journey by the time we meet again next Friday? We’ll see!
I hope your weekend is full of joy and rest. And tell me – where did YOU find joy this week?
So glad you had a great week with your husband on vacation. Have a wonderful weekend and happy stitching!

Happy belated birthday! I can’t think of a nicer gift than the gift of time to do what you wanted, so kudos to your husband for making that happen.

Your birthday sounds perfect – just what I would have asked for with small people at home. I have not even looked at this round for the SAHRR because I wanted to finish my other quilt. I might wait to see what happens next week before I proceed.

Thanks, Juliann! Quiet time is so necessary for me right now and so hard to comepe by. I’m thankful that I captured some 🙂 I have SO much left to do on this round of the quilt – so I’m trying to take deep breaths and remind myself it’s supposed to be fun.

Happy (belated!) Birthday! it sounds like you’ve had the best week to celebrate! Also, we are LOVING ACGAS. We’ve watched every episode twice. and (of course) I’ve cried on both the watch AND the re-watch. Wishing you a joy-filled weekend!

Time to yourself is the BEST gift – Happy birthday!
Oh, and I never did complete the YWA Breath month – I TOLD you that you’d finish before me, LOL. I bogged down at Day 28. (And there’s no way I’m doing a yoga session that’s nearly an hour long, not in this season of my life anyway.) In the meantime, I am still jumping around and doing other sessions of hers. But lately I’ve been using my elliptical more than doing yoga. Anyway – CONGRATS on that!

I don’t blame you for choosing different YWA sessions – I’m really going to have to plan for that last one, I think. Especially since you’ve finished a couple of her 30 day journeys already! But this is the first time I’ve come anywhere close to finishing and would really like to see it through. I finished Day 29 tonight!! And nice work with your elliptical – it feels so good!
