Each Friday I share a few things that have brought me joy throughout the week. I’m finally starting to feel like myself again, which is joyful in itself, and shaking off the cobwebs within me brings opportunities to do the things I love again. I’m thankful!
+ I’m reading again! And not just audiobooks, which I’ve leaned on the last few months. It feels good to curl up on the couch in the evenings with a hot cup of tea, under a quilt, and with a physical book in my hands.
+ I typically do yoga either in the dark of night or in my bedroom, which doesn’t have a ton of natural light. Yesterday I did my yoga session in the living room with the sunshine brightly streaming in, birds on our window feeder, and a view of the clouds moving across the sky as I sprawled in shavasana. Amazing!
+ I visited the library again this week!
+ Today we’re wrapping up the 22nd week of Blackberry Bluff School and will spend next week on “vacation.” We’re ending on a high note and I’m so relieved.
+ Yesterday I called upstairs to Bryce to let him know that lunch was ready. His response? I just want to finish this book. Music to my ears!
+ The days are getting longer. I’m putting the chickens away after 5 each evening – nearly an hour later than when they went to bed just a few months ago.
+ I can’t wait to spend the evenings watering flowers and playing barefoot outside. We’re almost there.
+ I blogged 5 days this week!
That’s it from me. I hope you all have the weekend you need for your body, mind, and soul. And tell me: what’s brought YOU joy this week?
I challenged myself to bake something everyday this week. So far I have, I think I’ll bake more bread today, homemade bread is eaten fast! Have a great weekend!

I started a new knitting project this week too, and finished my item for my Scrap hppy post on the 15th, which I am really pleased with. That’s a big pile of snow you have there- enjoy your week off.

Yay for new projects! The snow picture is an old one, but our yard does still look like that, ha!

I am enjoying following your blog! This mornings joy is waking after a full nights sleep! Our weather is promising to get warm enough to go for a walk without risking frostbite after a few minutes.

That’s a lot of joy! Also, your photo cracks me up — it perfectly captures that sudden exhaustion of dealing with snow! My reading mojo got away from me a bit this week, but I just got a notification about a hold from the library, so I’m looking forward to getting lost in a good book this weekend.

Your blog inspires me…I love reading about all your projects and goals and dreams. I finished a quilt top today for a niece’s wedding – it’s a new pattern for me from Rachel Hauser’s Stitched In Color blog – and I’ve been planning the next round of family wedding quilts and baby quilts. I have my second appointment at a nearby fabric store this coming weekend…joy is browsing those shelves. Happy weekend to you and yours.

I have been sewing up a storm and will finish my first sock tonight with time to cast on the mate. Seems it was a good week all around.

Reading, knitting, and some unexpected meals (as in, “let’s have Chinese tonight…”) Sometimes, take out is the most joyful thing ever! π

I too got my reading mojo back as well. Your blog post was so delightful to read. Here in Perth Western Australia we are in a hot summer…so lovely to hear about cozy days near the fire.

So great to hear you’re feeling better! Me, too, despite the cold. I can see the near end to my 1910’s dress. I pulled out the center square to my vintage linens quilt and did some embroidery on it. I found fatties with shade and pattern cloth to match the squares that were damaged by the machine, so plan to recut and sew those squares this weekend. I also started stitching on an everyday skirt in a fabric that looks kinda like red bandanas that I found at thrifty. Most of all, my Hubby celebrated his 49th birthday yesterday… a milestone for sure. Given his Sturge Weber Syndrome, we really celebrate each year just thankful that he’s alive! We’re looking at the incoming of another winter storm tomorrow night, so we decided to go out today to celebrate Valentines Day… We’ll each visit our favorite stores and get a little something. Him, the computer store (he has a list! ACH!) and me the Antique Mart… I have no list, but I know I’ll find something. hehe! Have a great week, Kat! ~ shalom, Bear

Your post made me happy! I’m so looking forward to spring also.
What’s brought me joy this week? Hmmm… using my elliptical trainer – not so much WHILE I use it as AFTER I use it, the feeling I get from working out. And finishing up The Crown finally! It’s not a joyful show but it sooooo good.

I’m so glad you’ve been loving The Crown!! I cannot wait until the next season π And nice work with your elliptical – I feel the same way about my exercise bike! (But I was supposed to get on it this morning and decided to skip so that I could spend some time with blog comments… oops)

Catching up with you has been a bright spot on a gray, wet, chilly Sunday … so many spots of joy! Mine are a crocheted heart from my grandsons (their sitter has started a little project to crochet hearts for a local mission), an hour on FaceTime with my daughter in England, and dark chocolate. My husband replenished my supply π
