Every Monday morning I take a look at the previous week in my notebook. This practice helps me look at how I’m using my time. We all have small pockets of time to ourselves and I’m on a mission to discover how to turn those slivers of time into something big.

Today was Day 211 of my journaling streak! This early morning writing time continues to be the most restorative part of my day.
Last week was definitely our most productive week of Blackberry Bluff School (purple highlights). We’re finding a good balance of work/play and Bear has been amazing at tackling things that he was previously approaching with reluctance. Little by little, and on his own timetable, we are getting there. And that feels good!
We only went outside one day last week! Again – we continue to struggle with this because of the weather and because we shifted our morning routine a bit when we started taking Bug back/forth to his day center. I’m not sure when (if) that will change again. Until then, I should probably figure out another time that makes sense for us because I love it when the kids spend a ton of time outside.
Despite hurting my thumb last week and not being able to sew (yellow) very much, I still worked hard to keep the week balanced. Instead of sewing with needle and thread, I spent some chunks of time basting hexies that I’ll need to finish up the background of the quilt.
And now I have to cut my writing time a bit short this morning – because although the extra hour of sleep thanks to the time change is wonderful, anyone with small children knows that it only means that it’s time to do more sleep training. My three darlings are now awake an hour earlier!
If you’ve written a recent post about your notebooks, please feel free to leave a link in the comments!
Your streak continues to be so impressive and I love how your notebooks allow you to really see the benefits of small changes. And congrats on flexible problem-solving, too (your thumb). Hope it’s back in sewing shape soon!

Thanks Jordy! My thumb is all better and isn’t getting in the way anymore… only all of this anxiety! I hope you’re able to keep the day quiet and calm.

I have been dreading the start of the cold weather because it means less time outside (or a harder time being outside), so I’m sure it’s even more frustrating with three kids who need to get outside to get out their energy.
I hope your thumb heals up soon so you can get back to your sewing!

I love the quote… there is no bad weather only unsuitable clothing! I am going to be bundling up and getting out doors as much as I can as these days get colder. I fear it will be the only way to maintain my sanity! 🙂
Go you on your journaling streak! That is just awesome!

I love that quote, too! We have plenty of woolens, boots, and warm things – it’s figuring out the best TIME to be out there. And you’re totally right – it’s the best way to help our mental health right now. Because it’s WACKY!!
I hope you have a fun (and safe!) day at the polls today. My husband is on his way there right now! I’ll be thinking about you 🙂
