Happy August! I have to say that this was probably the best July of my life. It was relatively cool, we were outside nearly every single day of the month, and it was full of my favorite things. I’m hoping the weather in August is similar!
These Monday morning posts give me an opportunity to look at how I’ve been using my time. I check-in with my notebook every few hours throughout the day to make sure I’m staying on track with what’s important to me. And it’s created a lovely little record of my life — full of the things I never give myself credit for outside of this reflections time.

Today marks 485 days of my journaling streak and 219 straight days of meditation – those numbers keep moving forward!
Last week I mentioned that I wanted to refocus on completing at least one physical activity every day – and I did! I had six sessions on the exercise bike and did yoga twice. Now let’s see if I can manage something similar this week.
I didn’t do much knitting (none maybe? I didn’t write anything down, at least) and did a TON of reading, which is a-okay in my book. Otherwise, our week was full of school and playing outside. I can’t believe we’re already starting our 4th week of school today!
I’m very behind on responding to your blog comments – I am sorry! I don’t think I’m going to be able to go back and respond at this point, but I’m going to do my best to stay caught up this week. Thank you all for your patience! I hope to be back on Wednesday with a book update – see you then!
I’m glad you had a good July, I certainly think it flew past. We’re enjoying a few days of cooler weather too, it sure is pleasant! I’m glad school is going well, have a great week!

Sweet summer! And when it comes to blogs, don’t worry about going back. If you have time, just focus on going ahead. A lesson? 😉

Thank you for the encouragement, Laurie! I don’t know how people stay caught up with blog comments; it’s definitely not one of my strengths. But you’re right – it’s a great lesson in so many areas!! Take care 🙂

Lots of time outside is the right thing right now! You’ll remember these days in the middle of January when everything is frozen and gray and miserable (and I’m sure there will be plenty of time to knit then). Here’s hoping you all have another wonderful week of weather and learning!

whoa, I’m jealous of those temperatures 🙂 and all that outside time reminds me of this delightful book https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/864997.Frederick? I think I have a “first edition” from my childhood shelf. The illustrations are delightful and the story is perfect! yay for the great streaks AND getting back to the bike.
