On Mondays I spend just a little time looking at the week that just ended. I try to document my life throughout the day to ensure I’m making choices that align with my goals and values. I often find myself veering off track and the simple act of returning to my notebook every few hours keeps me focused on my big picture.
Today I’m playing catch up – we focused on different notebooks the last two Mondays (a celebration of 365 days of journaling and a glimpse into my 5 year journal), so I’m going to quickly share the missing spreads from my Travelers Notebook in the interest of consistency.
Don’t worry – I’m not going to pick apart each category like I sometimes do. One of the great things about color coding is that you can see general themes at a glance. The last few weeks have been focused on reading and playing outside (and sometimes reading while playing outside!).
Today marks 379 days of journaling and 114 days of meditation – two streaks I’m very proud of!
What would I like more of? Exercise. I was doing really well with that early in the year and now I’ve completely fell off track. Also: stitching. Now that my evenings are full of renovations, all I want to do is escape into the basement and sew. And along these same lines: our oven is broken, so all I want to do is bake. Especially now because our hens are laying like crazy and the eggs are piling up. Ahh — I’m never happy!!
The big change is that I’m including my planned meals at the bottom of each day instead of tracking my water intake. My hope is that I’ll be able to stay on top of meal plans if I’m constantly looking at it. I’m writing those plans in pencil because I often fail at living up to my own expectations in this area of life and would like to be able to erase and fill in our actual meals. And, well, I love a nice, sharp pencil and will take any opportunity to use one (“I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.” sorry, I digress).
So that was my life over the last three weeks – thanks for getting caught up! I’ll be back on Wednesday with a reading update. See you then!
