Reading & Writing

Monday Check In

Still trying to work away at building up my reading and writing habit!  Last week I wrote daily, which is great!  I missed a couple of days of reading, which isn’t so great.  The disappointing thing is thachecklistt I’m reading a really great book, so I actually feel like I’m missing out when I don’t manage to read.

And then I remind myself that I deserve a little grace: I’m working, taking care of two babies, keeping up a house, and trying to spend time with my husband.  Every little bit that I get done is more than I would have gotten done if I had never made the decision to start.  That’s a long and awkward sentence, but I think you get the jist – something is better than nothing!

And, oh yeah – I am not a writer, but look at my streak last week.  It was perfect!  There were definitely days that I counted writing my blog posts as my 30 minutes of writing and that’s totally okay.  Something is better than nothing.  That will be my new mantra!

  1. ANY reading and writing a wife and mother gets done is great! 🙂 When kids are small, they need so much from us. Be gentle with yourself. But it sounds like you’re doing really well.

    1. You are totally right! It gets frustrating when there’s so much you want to do in the evenings, but it feels impossible to do anything but crawl into bed!! Thank you for the encouragement!
