A Look Into Our Notebooks – week 43 of 2020

On Mondays I share pictures from my notebooks. It’s been a lovely way to stay accountable to keeping them up to date and it’s helped to look at my time and habits in a holistic way. I documented a bright and colorful week, which means that it was full of variety!

A quick update on my streak: today marks 197 days of morning pages. If all goes well, I’ll reach 200 this week!

Overall, last week had more variety than the previous few weeks. It feels like I split my time between reading (pink) and stitching (yellow) a bit more evenly.

I introduced a new color! Orange is for audiobooks. I had been using pink like I use for traditional reading, but it felt deceptive. I’m always multi-tasking when I listen to an audiobook and wanted to differentiate that time a bit.

The purple signifies our time for Blackberry Bluff School. We started the new term on Tuesday and had really good days on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday was harder for me to stay focused because of a difficult interaction I had with the bus monitor that morning, and then I spent a chunk of the time contacting the school district and Bug’s treatment center — so we didn’t spend a ton of time focused on learning. Friday mornings are always a bit light on structured schooling, because we spend those days wrapping things up and playing games, which I don’t always document. Overall it was an excellent school week, despite my hiccup on Thursday!

this image is the one from last week, but that’s okay đŸ™‚

The meal plan is still working quite well. We stopped for fast food on Saturday when we took a drive up to the mountains, but thought of it as more of a treat than a necessity. And I had dinner ready to eat when we got home later that day (chicken tikka masala), which felt really good. I’m so pleased with how this is working out and am feeling excited about planning for November. I love that I don’t have the daily panic of figuring out dinner – it makes such a difference.

I’m so happy that I started using this insert and documenting my time so specifically. The days fly by so quickly – it’s really great to be able to look back and see how much I’ve squeezed in to each one!

If you’ve recently wrote a post about your own notebooks, I invite you to share the link in the comments. I always find so much inspiration from your posts!

  1. Despite the bus incident you had a good week- I love all your colour. I’ve not done a notebook post this week , after thinking about them last week I’m going to try something new soon, which means new notebooks.

    1. I am certain that your days are just as full as mine are! It’s been a wonderful practice to notice how I’m spending my time and recognizing it as a choice (whenever possible).

  2. Oooh, I spy Out of Sorts on audio – does Sarah narrate it? (sadly, my library has NONE of her titles on audio) Like everyone else, I am enamored with the colors and the variety and fullness of your days. Hope this week is off to a great start. 200 DAYS for sure!!

    1. Oh, I must have made a mistake with the color coding, ha! I read a physical copy of Out of Sorts! My library is the same – they don’t have any of her books. And the whole state shares the Overdrive system – no Sarah Bessey there either!
