Hobonichi Weeks – Week 30 of 2020

Welcome to the last Monday of July! On Monday mornings I like to use my blogging time to look back on the last week of my Hobonichi Weeks. I use my Weeks every day to track my daily/weekly tasks, the habits I’m working to strengthen, and my writing time each day. I also write a few sentences about whatever I want to remember from the day. My Weeks has helped keep me grounded and goal oriented during these bizarre days of the pandemic. Please come in and see how my week went!

Most notably, I’ve kept my daily journaling and step streaks alive! There were a couple of days last week when I thought my step streak was about to end, but somehow I managed to sneak in enough laps around the house to get to 10,000. But I’m prepared to say goodbye to that particular streak at any point! It dawned on me that it’s safe to say that I’ve been waking up between 4:30-5 every morning since my daily journaling streak began on April 6, which is bizarre. I’ve always been an early bird, but not this early and consistently. Just another benefit to prioritizing my morning pages!

My current goal is to prepare all of my own meals and cut back on getting takeout. I only ate out once last week, which was an improvement from the last couple of weeks! I’m still trying to figure out my end goal here – I started doing this because I want to transition toward a more plant based diet, but am having a hard time deciding what I want that to look like. For now, I’m going to focus on continuing to prepare my own meals and creating an arsenal of quick and easy recipes to fall back on when I’m tempted to order greasy burgers and fries.

I only stitched one time last week and that was to sew the buttons onto my Mariechen cardigan. It felt weird to not have a project to turn to, but I’ve been turning to some amazing books instead, which I can’t wait to share with you on Wednesday.

That’s it from me today! I’m planning to be back tomorrow to linkup with Honoré to share my One Little Word update. I hope you’ll visit her blog tomorrow to find lots of inspiration from other bloggers.

And today is my very first linkup! I invite you to share a recent post that you’ve written featuring your notebooks. Any type of journaling is welcome – diary-style, bullet journals, art journals, or anything else that you might be drawn to. I’d love other paper lovers to find a community full of encouragement! Please click the link below to enter your blog post – sorry they don’t all show on this page. It looks like you can’t do that when blogs are hosted by wordpress.com!

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

  1. I started writing in a journal every day (well, nearly every day) when we started staying at home, but it’s not quite as tidy as yours. I really like how you are limited by the space in your notebook so you only have to jot down a line or two. When you look back at it, this format makes it really easy to get a quick snapshot of what was happening every day at a particular point in time.
